Laurie J. LeBlanc, 69, of Belliveau Village, Memramcook, passed away peacefully on December 30, 2013 at the Dr. Georges L. Dumont hospital following a short battle with cancer.

Laurie J  Leblanc Born March 21st, 1944 in Moncton, he was the son of Philippe (2004) and Jeannette (Doucet) (April 2013). Laurie worked as a salesman for most of his life, mainly for MacDonald Tobacco, and the newspaper "Évangéline". In later years he enjoyed farming, where he often received primary school groups, as part of an outside education program, along with his laminating and antique business.

Laurie was very involved in his community. He has been a Pré-d’en-Haut volunteer firefighter, President of the Southeastern Fireman Association, President of the PDH Local Service District, President of the Comité Général of Memramcook, Founding member of the Westmorland Albert Solid Waste Commission, Director for the Federal Liberal Party, Director & President of the Provincial Liberal Party ,Ward 1 Councillor on the Memramcook Village Council, part of the Memramcook "Centinel" group for the safeguard of the Petitcodiac River, member of the Société Historique de la Vallée de Memramcook and the PDH Golden Age Club.

He is survived by his best friend and partner of 25 years, Patricia Utley, his son Terry (Charline) of Dieppe, his daughter Nadine (Michel) Cormier of Grand-Barachois, grandson Justin and grand-daughters Meaghan, Mélissa and Mélanie; his sisters, Muriel (Dismas) Brun, Bernice (Joe) Cormier both of Dieppe, Marie-Thérèse (Allen) Reid of BC and Angela LeBlanc (Tom) of Memramcook; several nephews and nieces.

Laurie was predeceased by his grandson Rémi Cormier (2004)
